TIFFIN, Ohio – The months of June and July are jam packed with six different Heidelberg University athletics’ programs hosting their respective shootouts, summer camps and weekend clinics.
Heidelberg men's basketball under the direction of first year head coach Andy Bucheit and his staff will kick of the plethora of 'Berg athletics' summer camps and clinics with their annual Shootout on June 6. The men's Shootout will begin on Friday, June 6, continue on June 7 and conclude the following Friday, June 13 with thier final installment.
Bucheit and The Berg men will be combining their June 9th camp with the second installment which was set to take place on June 16-18.
The June 9-11 camp is open to fourth to seventh grade boys looking to develop their fundamentals and learn skills and techniques from collegiate athletes and coaches.
Registration has been also been extended. Registration will be open until the morning of the 9th and walk-ups are welcome.
The Heidelberg women's basketball team will welcome some of the area's elite high school programs as they host their annual Shootout on Sunday, June 8.
First year head coach Morgan Shriver and the Heidelberg women will facilitate a Sunday packed full pool play and a single elimination tournament. Participating schools are guaranteed at least four games and will go home with a souvenir T-shirt.
While men's basketball welcomes their group young talent to campus, newly appointed head coach Chad Fitzgerald and 'Berg baseball will host their annual summer camp.
From June 16-18, a group of youngsters will receive instruction from the nationally ranked Heidelberg baseball team and staff. Coach Fitzgerald and the Student Princes will offer up their knowledge and help mold the generation of diamond dandies by focusing on baseball fundamentals.
Head coach Nick Spell and the Heidelberg women's soccer squad will close out athletics summer camps in the month of June.
Spell and The Berg women will host their summer youth camp on June 21. The one-day affair for high school age girls will offer three to four field sessions and a film session.
Seven year head coach Mike Hallett and the rest of Heidelberg's gridiron gang will kick off the month of July with their sixth annual youth camp.
From July 7-11, Heidelberg football will hone the skills of youngsters from all over the state. The 'Berg football youth camp is designed to develop all aspects of football for boys ages 6-13.
The Heidelberg men's soccer team will play host to another group of young men for their 2014 summer skills camp. High school boys teams and individuals alike are welcome to join the Student Princes on July 18-20.
Residential accommodations on Heidelberg's campus will be offered each day after training sessions have concluded.
