AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- 37 Heidelberg University fall student-athletes have been named Academic All-OAC. The award winners must be a sophomore or higher in class standing, maintain varsity status, and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50.
The football team led the way with nine selections. Seniors Shawn Beltz, Jacob Bruder, Nick Coolidge, and Brock Riggs were recognized. Junior Tyler Hunter as well as sophomores Jack Haley, Jermaine Burket, Hunter Powers, and Trace Reynolds received the honor.
The women's soccer team saw eight Student Princes receive the honor. Seniors Kenzie Lundqvist, Alyssa Gable, and Julia Miller were recognized. Amanda Kilway, Melodie Harnett, Naomi Smith, Rosie Hyden, and Darby Moloney were also named Academic All-OAC.
Anthony Raimondo, Christian Kiesel, and Greg Raimondo were selected from the men's soccer team. The team lost in the quarterfinals of the OAC Tournament in overtime to Marietta.
The volleyball team, who was defeated in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament, had six recipients of the honor. Seniors Karlie DiRuzza and Mikaela Weldy as well as Rachel Stroski, Taylor Arbogast, Abigail Rose, and Rachel Raimondo were recognized.
The men's cross country team saw seven runners selected. Juniors Aaron Hellman, Justin Mourguet, Dominic Frey, Nick Jones, and Sean Humphreys were recognized. Senior Jesse Rudolph as well as sophomore Devon Jester also received the honor.
Four were named from the women's cross country team. Nicole Tennison, Jessica Sucheck, Rachel House, and Elizabeth Volz were named Academic All-OAC.
