AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Heidelberg women's soccer swept the OAC Player of the Week awards in week two of the young season. Erica Campbell repeated as Offensive Player of the Week, while teammate, McKenzie Perry took home the honors as Defensive Player of the Week.
Campbell continued to punish opponent defenses with two goals and an assist this week. She scored both goals in a 2-1 win over Hiram mid-week, while contributing an assist in a 2-0 win over Defiance over the weekend. Campbell now has five goals and three assists in four games this season.
Perry helped anchor the Heidelberg defense to a 2-0 record while only conceding one goal over the two games. She has started all four games on the season contributing to an impressive 0.75 GAA. Also, Perry added two assists this week. Her first came on Campbell's first goal at Hiram, and her second came on Bekah Thomas' first goal vs. Defiance.
The Student Princes will be back on the field with three home games this week. They welcome Olivet to Hoernemann Stadium at 7 p.m. on Tuesday before hosting Alma on Friday and Trine on Saturday. Both Alma and Trine games will be played at Hidden Valley Soccer Complex with 4 p.m. start times.
