D3 Week Heidelbiography: Dani Blum

NAME: Dani Blum
HOMETOWN: Galion, Ohio
YEAR: Senior
MAJOR: Biochemistry with a minor in biology
SPORT: Cross country, track

I chose to attend Heidelberg because:
The coaches that were present were quite convincing and fit with my personality and goals well. Also, my older sister (Ally Blum) gave me the inside scoop so I could make an educated decision.

The best part about playing a sport at Heidelberg is:
Competing, obviously. I love to compete, and it's even more fun in recent years to pass on my knowledge to underclassmen in hopes of a better team in the future.

Heidelberg is unique because:
The students have a real relationship with the faculty. Not only can I email them and they know exactly who I am, they have a general idea what I'm going to have trouble understand because they've known me and taught me for several semesters.

My career goal:
involves attending graduate school for chemistry and earning my Ph.D. Athletically, my career goal is to simply be an All-Amercan, in any season, in any event.

While at Heidelberg:
I was able to attain an internship doing graduate level research through a contact with my advisor and his wife, who works at the University of Toledo.  I couldn't have asked for a more rewarding opportunity and am proud to say that I have been invited to continue working in my project as an intern during the fall semester. I guess that means I must be doing something right!
