I chose to attend Heidelberg because:
I am able to balance academics with the sport I love and have been put in a position by those around me to succeed at both.
The best part about playing a sport at Heidelberg is:
The support from fellow student-athletes is amazing. Our fans never disappoint.
Heidelberg is unique because:
There is such a sense of community across campus; unlike anywhere I've been before. I am so thankful for the opportunities Heidelberg presents to us students and cannot stress enough to underclassmen to take advantage of those opportunities while we have the chance!
Work within the marine mammal field.
While at Heidelberg:
I've had a volunteer position at Back to the Wild Animal Rehabilitation Center in Castalia coming out of my freshman year. The summer before my junior year I represented the USA while playing volleyball in Italy. This coming summer, I received a fellowship position at the Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward, Alaska. Thanks to the new internship grant Heidelberg offers, I'll spend about 10 weeks 4,000 miles away from home soaking in as much information as I can. Recently, over spring break I went to Belize with our Caribbean Bio-geography class. We spent a week studying the marine life and the local culture.
