The Heidelberg University baseball team was one of only two schools in the Ohio Athletic Conference to receive the American Baseball Coaches Association's (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award.  The honor is bestowed upon programs coached by ABCA members whose team GPA was above a 3.0 GPA for the academic year.  This is the second consecutive year Heidelberg has received the accolade.

"Earning this honor from the ABCA is no small feat," said Head Coach Chad Fitzgerald, who picked up his 100th career victory in the final win of season.  "I'm proud of how hard our guys work to maintain success in the classroom."

The team GPA was bolstered by eight Academic All-OAC honorees -- Chaz Bova, Brock Conner, Stephen Curry, Phil Frazier, Zach Hunter, Kyle Jenkins, Alex Sir Louis and Kyle Slovick.

In all, only 80 Division III teams across the country earned the honor -- including four from Ohio (Heidelberg, Case Western Reserve, Mt. Union and Kenyon).
