HU used a trick play to get on the board first. Vocke found Stoyle in the end zone for a 6-yard touchdown pass. Austin Baker's PAT gave Heidelberg an early 7-0 lead.

The story would be all Marietta for the remainder of the half, as the Pioneers tacked on 24 points before halftime. The biggest blow was a 69-yard pass to open the second quarter.

Marietta picked up right where they left off, scoring two more touchdowns before the Student Princes scored again. With 8:28 to play, Stoyle found Vocke for a 20-yard TD pass. Vocke tacked on the final HU touchdown with a 6-yard run.
