Men's basketball iced by Polar Bears

ADA, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University men's basketball team lost on the road at Ohio Northern University on Wednesday, 91-78 --the third straight for loss The Berg. Four Student Princes finished in double figures on the evening.

Heidelberg dropped to to 9-13 overall, 5-10 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Ohio Northern improved to 15-7, 13-2.

Chris Moxley had a team-high 19 points to lead the offense. Coming off a 30-point effort against Marietta on Saturday, Myron Prewitt had 17 points and seven rebounds. DeAvery Collins had 12 points while Kiere Bennie added 11 points and seven rebounds.

Ohio Northern was dialed in from long range in the first half, cruising out to a 21-point lead while shooting 7-of-12 from beyond the arc in the first half. Conversely, the Tricolor hit on just one of nine attempts from three in the period.

Down 54-33 at half, the Student Princes crawled back into the contest in the second half. With their shots finally falling, HU got to within nine at 69-60 on a 3-pointer by Moxley with just under 10 minutes to play.

ONU's Nate Berger and Devon Allen helped the Polar Bears regain a double-digit lead moments later, where it would remain for the rest of the contest. Allen had a game-high 21 points.

The hosts shot an impressive 21-of-23 (91.3%) from the line. Heidelberg was 8-of-11 from the stripe.

The Student Princes hit the road for the final time in the regular season on Saturday. They head east to Alliance, where they will face Mount Union (13-9, 8-7). The Purple Raiders enjoyed a triple-overtime win at Muskingum on Wednesday. Gametime is slated for 2 p.m.
