AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- Junior guard Kiere Bennie has been named second team All-Ohio Athletic Conference, as announced on Thursday. This is the third time Bennie has received all-conference accolades. He was named Co-Freshman of the year and to the honorable mention in 2014-15 and was a second team selection last season.
The Cincinnati native averaged 15.4 points per game and scored a season-high 28 points in an overtime victory at Mount Union. Bennie shot 84% from the line, good for fifth in the conference.
His season was highlighted when he eclipsed the 1,000 point mark in a win over Baldwin Wallace. The historic layup came as part of a 23-point performance on Jan. 25.
Heidelberg finished the season 11-15, 7-11 in OAC play. The team was defeated in the first round of the OAC Tournament in overtime at Marietta.
