Bennie, a senior with a decorated career, finished this season averaging a team-high 13.8 points per game. He added 2.7 assists per game with a sparking 86 percent from the foul line. The Cincinnati native becomes the first player at Heidelberg to be a four-time All-OAC honoree. Bennie was named to the honorable mention and the OAC Freshman of the Year after the 2014-15 season, and was selected to the second team as a sophomore and junior. With his 1,482 career points, Bennie leaves the Berg fifth on the all-time scoring list.
Prewitt earns his first all-conference honor, concluding his junior campaign scoring 13.6 points per game and grabbing 7.2 rebounds per game. The Cleveland native played a key role in the paint for the Student Princes this season. Prewitt tallied four double-doubles this year, bringing his career total to nine.
Bennie, Prewitt, and the rest of the Heidelberg University men's basketball team finished its 2017-18 campaign with a 11-15 mark. After earning a spot as the No. 8 seed in the OAC Tournament, the Berg fell to No. 1 John Carroll. Heidelberg knocked off three Top-25 teams this year with wins over then-No. 12 North Central, then-No. 24 Baldwin Wallace, and then-No. 22 Marietta.
