AUSTINTOWN, Ohio -- For the first time in his career, Heidelberg University senior men's basketball player Myron Prewitt has been named Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week. Prewitt enjoyed a career day and nearly lifted the Student Princes to an upset win at Mount Union on Saturday.

In the 87-85 loss to the Purple Raiders, the Cleveland native poured in a career-high 44 points on 15-of-25 (60%) shooting. Coincidentally, Prewitt was three points shy of both reaching the 1,000-point milestone and tying Heidelberg's single-game record set by Kurt Anderson against Mount Vernon Nazarene in the 1980-81 season.

Prewitt was a sharp-shooting 8-of-10 from beyond the arc and a perfect 6-for-6 at the free throw line. In addition to his scoring, he grabbed 10 rebounds to notch his fifth double-double of the season.

The Student Princes return to action on Wednesday at Ohio Northern. Tipoff in Ada is slated for 7 p.m. The game can be heard live on WTTF AM-1600.
