UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS -- With 30 points and 26 rebounds Wednesday night, Heidelberg University men's basketball player Myron Prewitt had a nice week.

Prewitt and the Student Princes pounded the host John Carroll Blue Streaks, 92-65 -- their biggest romp of JCU since a pair of 30+ point wins in the 2007-08 season.  The Berg led 48-24 at halftime, cruising to a 27-point victory.

Heidelberg improved to 5-9 overall, 3-4 in the OAC.  John Carroll dropped to 6-8, 2-5.

Prewitt's 26 rebounds are the most for a Heidelberg player since at least 2001, and six shy of the program record of 32 set by Robert Baur in a game against Ohio Northern during the 1956-57 season.  The 26 boards are fourth-most by a Division III player this season.

With 30 points, Prewitt tallied his league high 11th double-double of the season and notched his third 30+ point game of the year.

In support of Prewitt's monster night, Jimmy Hanley added 15 points while Curt Jacobs chipped in 14 points off the bench.  Dylan Woods also finished in double figures with 11 points.

Up 10-6 with 15:43 remaining in the first half, the Student Princes embarked on a 29-6 run over the next 11 minutes.

In the second half, JCU would inch to within 17 before Woods canned a 3-pointer to put HU up 70-50 with 8:35 to play.  Heidelberg's lead would not dip below 20 for the rest of the game.

"We played a complete game tonight on both ends at a very tough place to play," said Head Coach Andy Bucheit.  "Credit our seniors -- Myron, Jimmy [Hanley], and Hutch [Connor Hutchison]. They kept our young guys focused all week ... Myron set the tone tonight and everyone followed with great focus and intensity."

In all, 14 Student Princes either scored or grabbed a rebound as Bucheit emptied his bench in the game's waning moments.

Prewitt, who attended Bedford High School -- roughly 15 minutes away from John Carroll, was 13-of-22 from the floor.  The last Heidelberg player with 20+ rebounds was Nate Davis, who had 23 boards on Jan. 30, 2013, also at John Carroll.

Heidelberg out-rebounded the Blue Streaks, 58-34. From their 16 offensive boards, HU held a 22-5 edge in second-chance points.

The Student Princes will travel to Muskingum University on Saturday afternoon with the women as part of an OAC doubleheader. The women will tip off against the Muskies at 2 p.m. with the men slated to start at 4 p.m.
