AUSTINTOWN -- Just three days after concluding their season in the OAC tournament quarterfinals, the Heidelberg University men's basketball team was recognized with two All-OAC honorees.
Prewitt's honor is the second of his career after he took home honorable mention accolades as a junior. The big man concluded his season averaging a double-double with 19.7 points per game and 10.8 rebounds per contest. He was ranked second in scoring and led the league on the glass. As a force under the basket, Prewitt finished fourth in the conference in total blocks with 20 on the year.
Prewitt highlighted the season becoming Heidelberg's 32nd member of the 1,000 point club and ended his career sitting 10th all-time with 1,374 points. In a 44-point performance at Mount Union, tied the school record for most 3-pointers in a single game with eight. Those efforts led to his selection as OAC Player of the Week.
Woods had a breakout sophomore campaign en route to his first career postseason recognition. After playing in just two games as a freshman, Woods started all but one game this season at the point guard position. He tallied a remarkable stat-line with 13.2 points per game on 45% shooting, 2.4 rebounds per game, and 2.9 helpers per outing.
The Fairfield Township native amassed his remarkable season in conjunction with his participation in the Air Force ROTC program at BGSU.
Prewitt and Woods concluded the season leading Heidelberg to the OAC tournament quarterfinals where they fell to Mount Union this past Tuesday.
