HARROD, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University men's and women's golf teams each finished fifth at the ONU Spring Invitational, held at Colonial Golfers Club. The first round, held Saturday, was shortened to nine holes because of wind, rain, snow and cold temperatures. Despite less than ideal conditions, Andrew Sikorski led Berg golfers with a 10th-place finish.
Sikorski carded a 76 on Sunday, tied for the second-best score of the round. Coupled with a 44 on Saturday, he led the Berg with a 120 (+12) over the 27 holes. Kurtis Lazur and Chance Campbell both followed with a 126 (+18). Jack Eifel had a 129.
Taylor Lewis led the way for the women's team. She shot a 152 on the weekend, good for 12th overall. Christy Anzur (155), Kerianne Murphy (159) and Hope Bacho (159) also scored for the Student Princes
The women's squad will tee it up at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational on Saturday, April 9, at the Millcreek Gold Course. The men's team returns to action on Sunday, April 10, at the OAC Spring Invitational at the Shaker Heights Country Club.
