Golf competes at Day 1 of OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE - The Heidelberg University men's and women's golf teams competed at the first day of the 2016 OAC Championships on Friday.   The HU women sit in 6th place while the men are in 8th after one day of the three-day event.

Leading the way for the women on day one were Kerianne Murphy and Christy Anzur, who each carded a 95, putting them both in a tie for 22nd place overall.

On the men's side, Kurtis Lazur paced the Student Princes with a 76, putting him in a tie for 16th place overall.  Jack EifelAndrew Sikorski, and Chance Campbell each shot 78, tying for 24th place after the first day.  Despite sitting in 8th place as a team, the HU men are currently only 12 strokes off the lead.

Both the Heidelberg men and women will continue play tomorrow at the River Greens Golf Course.
