GOLF: Men win ONU Fall Classic

HARROD, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University men's golf team picked up a win in the season-opening ONU Fall Classic. Played at Colonial Golfers Club, the Student Princes narrowly edged host Ohio Northern by one stroke to claim the win. HU shot 310-324--634 during the two-round event.

Logan Dwelle paced the Student Princes with a 78-776--154 -- a second-place finish, two shots out of first. Andrew Sikorski finished third with a 78-80--158.

Mark Lair returned to the lineup and shot a 75-85--160 to finish tied for fifth. Aaron Mitchell tied for ninth with an 80-83--163. Keaton McKinley shot a 79-89--168 in his debut.

In addition to beating ONU, Heidelberg bested Bluffton and Rio Grande -- alma mater of head coach Shaun Gunnell.

Golfing as an individual, Jaret Miller carded an 89-81--170.

On the women's side, just two 'Berg golfers took to the course. Alexis Julien shot a 102-88--190 and Autumn Simpson scored a 104-91--195.

The men's team returns to action in the Ohio Cup at Red Hawk Run. The women's team head to the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational at Safari Golf Club. Both events will be held next weekend.
