FINDLAY, Ohio -- In a field dotted with Division II competition, the Heidelberg University men's golf team was tops among the Division III teams and seventh overall in the inaugural Ohio Cup. The two-round event was held on a blustery day at Red Hawk Run.
Heidelberg shot 316-309--625 as a team.
Bryan Kennedy shot a 79-71--150 to finish t-14th overall. Andrew Sikorski had the best first round for HU, shooting 77-79--156 on the day, T-35th. Blake Kaffenbarger had an 81-79--160 while Logan Dwelle shot an 81-80--161. Mark Lair carded a 79-87--166.
UNOH won, led by medalist Lewis Scott.
Heidelberg returns to action at next weekend's Irish Hills Intercollegiate at The Grande Golf Club in Jackson, Mich.
NOTE: The women's golf team was scheduled to play at the Safari Golf Club this weekend, but the event was rained out. The team will be back in action at next weekend's home tournament at Mohawk Golf & Country Club.
