MGOLF: Berg finishes fourth at Poppa Flowers

SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University men's golf team hit the links yesterday at the John Carroll University Poppa Flowers Invitational.

Hosted at Shaker Heights Country Club, the one-day tournament on the par 70 course fielded seven teams. Baldwin Wallace University came out as the top team with a score 298. The Yellow Jackets edged DII Malone University and hosts John Carroll by just one stroke.

Just eight strokes off of first, Heidelberg placed fourth overall with a team score of 306.

The five Student Princes that competed for the team score consisted of Bryan Kennedy, Logan Dwelle, Andrew Sikorski, Michael Schuller, and Jaret Miller.

Kennedy (74), Dwelle (75), and Sikorski (76) paced the team. Schuller (81) and Miller (84) rounded out the scoring.

Kyle Nekoloff (81) and Jake Belford (83) competed as individuals for Heidelberg.

Thomas Pressler of Malone won medalist honors with a score of 71.

The Berg will return to the course on April 20 at the Baldwin Wallace Invitational.
