MGOLF: Heidelberg 5th at OAC Championships

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ohio -- At the 2019 Spring OAC Championships, the Heidelberg University men's golf team concluded their season with a fifth place finish.

The event, hosted by Muskingum University at River Greens Golf Course, was won by Otterbein University who shot a four round total of 1162. Baldwin Wallace was second with 1202. Marietta and John Carroll tied with scores of 1211 and Heidelberg rounded out the top five with a 1215 team score.

The Student Princes were led by a consistent Andrew Sikorski who tied for sixth at the event. Sikorski shot a 297 (73-73-79-72) over the competition. His sixth place finish was good for All-OAC honors, a repeat of his 2018 performance. 

Bryan Kennedy was next for the Berg with a 307 (75-78-78-76), good for a tie for 21st. Just three shots behind Kennedy was Logan Dwelle who shot a 310 (75-79-84-72), good for a 25th place tie.

Michael Schuller was just a stroke behind Dwelle in a tied for 29th with a total score of 311 (76-77-80-78). Blake Kaffenbarger rounded out Heidelberg's score with a 316 (78-86-76-76), good for a T-40 finishing.

Otterbein's winning score was paced by a sweep of the top-5 finishers. Sam Mary took the medalist honors with a 287 score. The rest of the Cardinals put scores of 292, 293, 293, and 295 in.
