ANGOLA, Ind. -- The Heidelberg University men's lacrosse team dropped their second straight game at Trine University by a final score of 12-5.

With the loss, Heidelberg drops to 2-4, while Trine improves to 3-1.

A three-point performance by Alex Bruder led the Student Prince offense as the attackman tallied two goals and dished out an assist. Brock Hodson also had a 1-1 day with a goal and a helper. Jacob White and Patrick McCarthy scored the other Heidelberg goals.

After falling behind 1-0, the Student Princes evened the score with a goal by Jacob White. Brock Hodson picked up the helper on the goal.

Four more Thunder goals before the halftime intermission brought the score to 5-1. Tyler Klima and Eric Peal each netted two first-half goals for Trine.

However, out of the respite, two quick Alex Bruder strikes to start the third gifted Heidelberg momentum to get back into the game. Unfortunately, the momentum tailed off as Trine responded with two goals.

Patrick McCarthy then responded with a man-up goal for the Berg, but Peal responded just 17 seconds later for the Thunder to eliminate any energy boost for Heidelberg.

Brock Hodson netted a fourth quarter goal for Heidelberg, but Trine held the 4-1 advantage in the frame to take the 12-5 win.

Hunter Edwards led all players with eight ground balls, while Zach Hopton had a game-high four caused turnovers.

Klima, Peal, and Justin Gearig all netted a hat trick for Trine to lead the hosts.

Eli Allen started in between the pipes and stopped eight shots. Joseph Steigmeyer tallied nine saves for the Thunder.

The Student Princes will return to Hoernemann Stadium on Wednesday as they welcome Adrian College for a 4 p.m. start time.
