TIFFIN, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University men's lacrosse team concluded a rough week of conference play with a 19-5 loss at the hands of Otterbein University on Saturday night.
The Student Princes looked to be well on their way after overcoming an early two-goal deficit and taking a 3-2 lead toward the end of the first period. Goals were scored by Alex Bruder, Patrick McCarthy and Jaydon Septer over the run. Connor Reese picked up the assist on Bruder's goal, the first of his career.
Otterbein then scored the game's next 16 goals.
Brock Hodson and McCarthy scored goals sandwiched around a Cardinal tally to end the scoring.
Reese stopped a new career high 19 shots in the cage for Heidelberg in just his second career start.
The Student Princes will hit the road for Capital University on Wednesday April 10. Faceoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
