TIFFIN – Senior Hamid Shariff has been named player of the week by the Ohio Athletic Conference for his performance in the past week in victories over Wilmington and Capital. The midfielder from Columbus played a vital role in both wins, recording two assists against Capital and scoring both goals in a 2-0 win over Wilmington
In the match against Capital, Shariff assisted in the first two goals for the Student Princes, as they went on to win by a final score of 3-1. On Saturday against Wilmington, he found the back of the net first in the 24th minute to give the Berg the 1-0 lead. Shariff then went on to put the game away in the 84th minute, pushing the lead to two when he got a ball just across the goal line.
The reigning OAC midfielder of the year currently has five goals and a team-high eight assists heading into today's OAC quarterfinal match with Marietta.
