Men's soccer falls at JCU

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- The offense stalled as the Heidelberg University men's soccer team fell on the road to John Carroll 3-0. The Blue Streaks used three second half goals to drop the Tricolor to 4-6, 1-1 OAC. John Carroll improves to 5-5-1, 2-0 OAC.

John Carroll used a string of passes from Tim Delaney and Dalton Browsky to get on the board in the 61st minute. Hayden Parente received Delaney's pass and capitalized on an open goal that gave the Blue Streaks a 1-0 lead.

Less than two minutes later, Jesse Marinaro's shot found the back of the net, pushing the JCU lead to 2-0.

Jacob Lombardo added an insurance goal in the 70th minute for John Carroll.


In the 56th minute, goalkeeper Jake Kress was issued a red card after receiving a second yellow card in the game. Alex Archambeau took over in goal for the Student Princes following the ejection.

Kress and Archambeau each made one save. JCU's Liam McIntosh made six saves in the match.

HU took 11 shots in the contest.

The two teams combined for 21 fouls -- including four yellow cards and one red card.


The Student Princes are back on the road this Saturday when they travel to Mount Union. Kickoff under the lights is scheduled for 7 p.m.
