MSOC: Berg blanked in midweek contest

CLEVELAND -- The Heidelberg University men's soccer team suffered a 4-0 defeat on the road to Case Western Reserve University Wednesday night.

With the loss, Heidelberg drops to 1-4 on the season, while CWRU improves to 6-1.

The Spartans did all their scoring in the first 21 minutes, including three goals in the first 10 minutes.

Zachary Senft scored in just 33 seconds after the opening kickoff on a cross from Garrett Winter. Winter would get on the board himself in the 10th minute on an unassisted goal. Just 36 seconds later, he doubled his tally and put the third goal in for the Spartans. Seldon Magruder capped the scoring in the 21st minute heading in a cross from Alex Besl.

Jake Kress started in net for the Student Princes collecting five saves.

Heidelberg will look to bounce back on Saturday as they travel to Thiel College for a 4:30 p.m. kickoff.
