ADA -- A second-half lead quickly evaporated for the Heidelberg University men's soccer team in a 4-1 loss at Ohio Northern University on Wednesday. The loss dropped Heidelberg to 5-7-1 overall, 2-3-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference.

After a scoreless first half, Heidelberg struck quickly after intermission. The Student Princes deftly moved the ball down the field where Bryce Zeleznik ran onto a through ball and placed past the keeper. Antonio Demonte and Porus Shroff picked up the assists on the goal which came in the 51st minute.

Heidelberg held the lead until ONU got on the board with a goal in the 76th minute. Bryan Kern scored his third of the year, assisted by Beelal Hasan and Joseph Schulte. Moments later, Hasan put the Polar Bears on top with a goal in the 78th minute. Still not content, Hasan added another in the 81st minute.

Hasan completed his hat trick in the 83rd minute.

In goal, Jake Kress made eight saves on the 28 shots the Polar Bears levied.

With three games left to play in the regular season, Heidelberg needs positive results in order to make the six-team conference tournament for the seventh straight season.

Heidelberg's trek toward the OAC tournament continues on Saturday.  Mount Union visits Hidden Valley for a 1 p.m. start on Senior Day.
