Men's tennis edged out at Defiance

DEFIANCE, Ohio -- In its first match of the 2018 season, the Heidelberg University men's tennis team narrowly fell to Defiance College, 5-4.

Freshman doubles Kyle Alexander and JT Vaughan won in second doubles, 9-7. Hunter Bradley and Alex Sprague took the third doubles match as well, 8-6.

Alexander, in his first collegiate match, won his singles match, 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (11-9). Bradley was the other Student Prince to win in singles by a score of 6-1, 6-3.

The men's and women's teams are both in action on Sunday when they travel to Albion College. The women's match starts at 10 a.m. while the men's match will follow at 1 p.m.
