TIFFIN -- Both Heidelberg University tennis teams continued their conference play as the women played home to Ohio Northern University, while the men traveled to Ada to take on the Polar Bears.
Unfortunately, both teams were upended 9-0. The men now stand at 0-3 overall while the women sit at 1-3 in the spring season.
In the women's competition, all three doubles pairings took games during their matches, but were unable to scrape away at ONU's dominance. In second singles, Esmerelda Salazar took three games in set one of her match -- the most by a Student Prince on the day.
On the men's side, the highlight match of the day was at sixth singles as Jordan Robbins battled tooth and nail with Joshua McClure of ONU. Robbins fell 6-2 in the first set, but forced a tiebreaker in set two and was narrowly edged 7-5. At second singles, Porus Shroff played a tough match but could not muster the final blow as he fell 6-1, 6-2.
The Student Princes will both play home to Grace Christian on Friday. The men will play at Heidelberg's courts, while the women will travel down the road and take on Grace at Tiffin University's courts.
