LINCOLN, Neb. – Josh Lynch earned his second All-American finish in the triple jump of his career as he finished fourth at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday. Lynch was an outdoor triple jump All-American in 2012.
In the preliminary round, Lynch fouled on his first two attempts. On his third and final preliminary jump, Lynch leapt to a mark of 14.50m. It qualified Lynch for the finals.
In the finals, Lynch could not improve on his mark of 14.50m, but hung on to fourth place.
Lynch is the seventh man to win indoor All-American honors in Heidelberg history. He is the first All-American triple jumper since Greg Tyson in 2006.
The fourth place finish capped off a successful weekend for Heidelberg track & field. On Friday, Sophie Goobic finished sixth in the 5000m.
