Track and Field Continues Outdoor Season at Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio - The Heidelberg University track and field team continued the 2014 outdoor schedule at the 29th annual Toledo Invitational on Friday, May 9. Coach Ron Martin only traveled five Student Princes to Toledo, but each finished in the top ten in their respective discipline.

Men's Triple Jump
Senior Josh Lynch led the 'Berg men with a first place finish in the triple jump. Lynch marked a jump of 14.57 meters to finished ahead of the field.

Women's 3,000 Meter Steeplechase
Distance runner Dani Blum collected the only other first place performance for The Berg. The freshman clocked a time of 11:51.88 to claim first in the women's steeplechase.

Women's 1,500 Meter Run
Senior All-American Sophie Goobic earned a fifth in the women's 1,500 meter run as she prepares for the slicing stretch of the 2014 outdoor season. The Canton, N.Y. native finished in a time of 4:46.52.

Throwers Finish Eighth
Senior Gage Falcone and junior Ally Blum each earned eighth place finishes.

Falcone claimed eighth in the men's hammer throw with a toss of 53.84 meters. Blum received her top ten finish with a mark of 41.29 meters in the women's discus.

The Heidelberg track and field squad will recuperate quickly as they travel to Delaware, Ohio on Monday.
