FINDLAY, Ohio – The Heidelberg University track & field teams took part in their first meet of the new year on Friday. Competing against Division II and Division III teams, the women's team finished sixth and then men's team finished seventh at the University of Findlay.
Women 400 Meter Dash: Taylor Dillon had the top D3 finish in the 400, clocking a tie of 1:00.84, fourth overall. Michaela Slone was sixth, 1:01.56.
Women 800 Meter Run: Harley Barlesky was sixth in the 800 with a time of 2:38.18. Her teammate, Nicole Tennison, was eighth – 2:46.81.
Women 3000 Meter Run: Dani Blum's time of 10:45.10 was good for sixth, second among D3 competitors, in the 3000m run.
Women Shot Put: Madison Haasz was the best among the D3 crowd with a throw of 44-09.00. Her toss was sixth overall.
Women Weight Throw: Haasz added an eighth-place finish in the weight with a toss of 50-11.00, again tops among the Division III competitors.
Men 800 Meter Run: Jacob Berryman was fifth in the 800 meter with a D3-best time of 2:01.58.
Men 3000 Meter Run: Dylan Dombi was third in the 3000, clocking a time of 8:41.06. His time broke the Heidelberg school record of 8:41.76, which was set in 1997 by Dustin Lamvermeyer.
Men 4x400 Meter Relay: Two HU relay teams placed – with Aaron Schulz, Gatchell, Jerrod Lyon and Berryman coming in seventh (3:34.05). Cameron Weaks, Dombi, Eric Peterson and Nolan Larsick finished eighth (3:35.51).
Men High Jump: Wes Fritz cleared 6-01.25, good for an eighth place finish.
Men Triple Jump: Kevin Thompson was sixth in the triple. His best mark was 42-07.00.
Men Shot Put: With a mark of 48-06.25, Zach Felton was seventh in the shot.
Heidelberg returns to competition at the OAC Split Meet on Friday at Mount Union.
