Hunter sets school record in 400

ADA, Ohio -- Sarah Hunter highlighted a solid Saturday for the Heidelberg University track & field teams. The junior set a school record and a meet record in the 400 Meter Dash as the women's team finished eighth at the Joe Banks Invitational at Ohio Northern. The men's team was 11th in Ada on Saturday, while Jon Suter (fifth) and Dan Stoll (eighth) competed at the All-Ohio Combined events at Denison.

"Sarah's success is a testament to how hard she has been working this year," said head coach Joe Yoder. "We had some great PRs in each area, so I am excited to to put on a good show next weekend at All-Ohio."

In all, the Student Princes had 10 top-three finishes.

Women 400 Meter Dash: Sarah Hunter won the event, running a 58.75. In doing so, she bested Jamie Depinet's school record (58.89 in 2010) and Emily Richards' meet record (ONU, 58.90 in 2016).

Men 3000 Meter Run: Isaac Kuntz finished in third place with a time of 8:59.52.

Women 60 Meter Dash: Bethany Beaver was edged out by .01 seconds, taking home second place with a time of 8.02.

Women 4x400 Meter Relay: Michaela SloneAllison SchwarzbekBaylee Garrett and Hunter finished with a time of 4:08.82, putting them in second place.

Women 5000 Meter Run: Senior Dani Blum ran an 18:45.00 -- good for second place.

Men High Jump: Wes Fritz finished in second place clearing 6-4.75 feet.

Women 200 Meter Dash: Hunter took third with a time of 26.74.

Men Weight Throw: Ben Gutzky hurled his way to a runner-up finish with a toss of 54-1.75 feet.

Women 1000 Meter Run: Clocking a 3:11.56, senior Hayley Cochran took third in the 1000.

Men Triple Jump: Kevin Thompson leapt to a third-place finish with a mark of 40-9.75 feet.

At the All-Ohio Combined Events Championships hosted by Denison, Jon Suter finished fifth and Dan Stoll was eighth.  Suter's best event was a second-place finish in the 1000 Meter run, a time that gave him 681 points.  He finished with 3758 points.  

Stoll's top event was the 60 Meter Dash.  He won the race with a 7.33, which earned him 769 points.  He finished with 3580 points.
