HUTF takes three titles at All-Ohio

DELAWARE, Ohio – The Heidelberg University track teams took home three titles and nine All-Ohio accolades at the All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. Collectively, the men were fifth and the women were ninth.

HU returns to competition at the Polar Bear Invitational on April 23.

The All-Ohioans

Women 4x100 Meter Relay: McKenzie Biniker, Bethany Beaver, Allison Schwarzbek and Kelsey Grove sprinted to the All-Ohio title, winning the 4x100. They came in with a time of 48.95s.

Men High Jump: Having won the Siggy for top male individual performance last week, Wes Fritz staked his win another after taking home the title in the high jump. He cleared the bar at 6-7, the only man to do so. Ryan Edwards was seventh, clearing 6-0.

Men Hammer Throw: Tristen Durr won with a toss of 182-07. His best two attempts came on his final throws.

Men Decathlon: At last week's Multis, Jon Suter was third and Dan Stoll was fourth.

Women 200 Meter Dash: In the 200, Beaver took home third place with a time of 26.32s.

Women 400 Meter Dash: Sarah Hunter, the Siggy Award winner for Female Newcomer of the Year, took third with a time of 57.67s.

Men 5000 Meter Run: Austin Neura was the runner-up in the 5K, just four seconds out of first place. Neura finished with a time of 15:13.38.

Men 400 Meter Hurdles: Kenny Beucler was third in the 400 hurdles. He ran it in 54.15s.

Men 4x400 Meter Relay: Finishing in 3:19.18, Jerrod Lyon, Dan Stoll, Kenny Beucler and De Churchya took second in an exciting 4x4 relay.

Top 8 Finishes

Women 100 Meter Dash: Bethany Beaver took fourth with a time of 12.39s. Kelsey Grove (12.62s) scored a point with an eighth-place finish.

Women 400 Meter Hurdles: Allison Schwarzbek sprinted and leapt to a fourth-place finish in the 400 hurdles. She clocked in at 1:06.05.

Women High Jump: Olivia Hipp cleared 5-1.25 and finished seventh.

Women Javelin Throw: Hipp scored another point with an eighth-place finish in the javelin. Her best throw, 107-04, came on her third attempt.

Men 4x100 Meter Relay: Edward Alfred, Ryan Edwards, Daizon Bennett and Dan Stoll teamed up for a seventh-place finish in the 4x1. They clocked a 43.72.

Men Long Jump: Jerrod Lyon was fifth in the long jump with a mark of 21-10.75.

Men Triple Jump: Kevin Thompson jumped to a fourth-place finish with a mark of 42-5.5.

Men Discus Throw: Alex Fee grabbed a point with an eighth-place finish in the discus. His best throw – 134-01 – came on his third attempt.
