NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The Heidelberg University men's track and field team will be represented in four different events at next weekend's NCAA National Championships. Junior Tristen Durr along with sophomores Kenny Beucler and Wes Fritz have all qualified following Thursday's meet. The men's 4x400m relay joined the party when the final list was announced.
Fritz will be appearing for the second straight season at the National Championships in the high jump. Fritz won the event, clearing 6-07.50 feet. He is currently ranked 12th in the nation.
Durr's hammer throw of 176 feet gave him a third place finish and a spot at Nationals next weekend. The junior is ranked 11th in the nation in the hammer throw.
Beucler ran a 53.18 in the 400 meter hurdles. The run placed him at 15th in the country, earning a spot at next week's National Championships.
The NCAA National Championships will be held at the Spire Institute in Geneva, Ohio, starting on Thursday.
