Relays perform well at OAC Split Meet

BEREA -- The Heidelberg University track and field teams competed at the OAC North Split Meet, hosted by Baldwin Wallace University. The men's team was fourth and the women's team was fifth. Here is a rundown of the Student Princes who finished in the top three, starting first with the event winners:

Men's 4x200 Meter Relay: Dan Stoll, Jerrod Lyon, Marques Johnson and James Ervin won the 4x2 with a time of 1:33.53, 0.21 seconds ahead of the relay team from Mount Union.

Men's 4x400 Meter Relay: Lyon, Tim Faiken, Kenny Beucler and Stoll teamed up to win the 4x4 with a time of 3:26.39.

Women's 5000 Meter Run: Amanda Elkins won the 5K by more than 13 seconds, clocking a 19:17.00.

Men's Long Jump: Ryan Edwards won the long jump with a leap of 6.64m.

Men's 400 Meter Dash: Dan Stoll was third with a time of 50.45.

Men's 800 Meter Run: Tim Faiken took third with a time of 2:05.32, finishing just ahead of teammates Kyle Manuel and Dylan Wiechart.

Men's 1 Mile Run: Eric Peterson placed third with a time of 4:34.42.

Women's 3000 Meter Run: Rachel House was the runner-up in the 3K, coming in with a 10:38.40.

Women's 4x200 Meter Relay: McKenzie Biniker, Erica Campbell, Sarah Hunter and Khaliah Staples took second in the 4x2 with a time of 1:51.03.

Men's High Jump: Wes Fritz took third in the high jump, clearing 1.90m.

Men's Pole Vault: Austin Baker vaulted to a third-place finish. He cleared 3.50m.

Men's Weight Throw: Ben Gutzky's throw of 16.40m was good for third in the weight throw.

Heidelberg track & field will return to action next weekend at the University of Findlay.
