ADA, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University track and field teams were in action at the two-day Polar Bear Invitational, hosted by Ohio Northern University. The men's team finished third out of six teams, as the women took fifth.
Below is a list of top-three finishers.
Men's 1500m Run -- Running a 4:11.73, Jacob Ferrebee won the event.
Men's Hammer Throw -- Ben Gutzky finished first with a toss of 52.53m.
Men's 110m Hurdles -- Marques Johnson won the event with a race of 16.18.
Women's 100m Dash -- Kelsey Grove finished second with a time of 12.85. Grove also placed second in the 200m dash, clocking in at 25.82.
Women's 800m run -- Amanda Elkins took third with a time of 2:28.33.
Women's 400m Hurdles -- Sophomore Allison Schwarzbek won the event with a race of 1:05.97. She placed second in the 100m hurdles with her time of 17.19.
Men's 200m Dash -- With a time of 22.35, Dan Stoll finished third.
Men's 800m Run -- Eric Peterson's race of two minutes even earned him a second place finish.
Men's 400m Hurdles -- Jon Suters ran a 58.59, good for second. Suter also took second in the javelin throw at 46.25m.
Men's High Jump -- Ryan Edwards took third, clearing 1.88m.
Both teams return to ONU next weekend for the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships. The event runs Friday and Saturday.
