TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg University track teams began their indoor schedule this past Saturday at the Tiffin Alumni Open. Competing with a small group, the squad was looking to build heading into the holiday season.

Head coach Joe Yoder liked the way his athletes competed at the first contest of the year: "We had some good performances, Wes had his best opening meet ever off a short approach, Dan ran a very good 300 and Kelsey and Haley getting big PR's at the first meet was definitely a highlight. It's always good to see where we are at before going on break. It lets our athletes have some confidence going into Christmas break and also reminds them that we have a lot of work to do."

Below is a breakdown of the top performances on the day for the Student Princes.

Men's High Jump: Wes Fritz placed second in the high jump, clearing 1.99m.

Men's 300m Dash: Dan Stoll finished third overall with a time of 35.96 seconds.

Men's 400m Dash: Kenny Beucler crossed fourth overall in 52.12 seconds.

Men's Weight Throw: Ben Gutzky placed 6th in the weight throw with a heave of 16.63m.

Women 200m Dash: Freshman Arinn Hayes placed eighth overall with a time of 27.13 seconds.
