FINDLAY -- Among a field of strong competitors from Division II and Division III, the Heidelberg University men's and women's track teams were in action on Saturday at the Findlay Open. The competition marked their first since December 1, when they competed at the Tiffin Alumni Open.
Below is a breakdown of the top performances on the day for the Student Princes.
Men's High Jump: Wes Fritz finished second with a leap of 2.03m. His jump was second only to 2018 NCAA DII All-American Myles Pringle of Ashland University.
Men's 200m Dash: Dan Stoll crossed the line in second clocking a time of 22.80 seconds.
Men's 400m Dash: Kenny Beucler crossed fifth overall in 51.64 seconds.
Men's Long Jump: Fritz also placed fifth for the Student Princes in long jump with a jump of 6.35m.
Men's Weight Throw: Ben Gutzky placed fourth in the weight throw with a toss of 16.77m.
Men's One Mile: Austin Neura placed sixth overall with a time of 4:33.29.
Men's 800m: Hunter Greenman crossed fifth (2:06.64), while Mitch Luken placed 8th (2:11.65) for the Berg.
Women's 3,000m: Amanda Elkins placed fifth overall, crossing the line with a time of 11:07.04.
Women's 200m: Arinn Hayes rounded out her solid day on the track with a seventh place finish in a time of 27.23 seconds.
Women's Shot Put: Kelsey Jakubcin placed sixth over with a throw of 10.75m.
Women's Weight Throw: Haley Wulff finished seventh with a toss of 11.72m.
The Student Princes return to the track on Saturday, January 19, at the IPFW Mastodon Invitational in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
