Men fourth, women fifth at OAC Championships

BEREA, Ohio —The Heidelberg University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday, at host Baldwin Wallace. The men's team finished fourth overall and the women's team finished fifth. In the process, sophomore Dylan Dombi earned Second Team All-OAC honors.

Leading the way for the men was Dombi, who finished 14th with a time of 25:51.4. Isaac Kuntz finished 21st with a time of 26:35.4. Eleven seconds behind Kuntz was Matthew Tussing finishing 26th with a time of 26:46.6.

Finishing one second behind Tussing was Zach Flint, who was 28th. Finally Devon Jester followed Flint with a time of 27:00.5 finishing 30th.

Ohio Northern took home the team title.


The top six runners for the women's team finished within 1:09.9 of one another. Dani Blum led the way, finishing 21st with a time of 23:25. Hayley Cochran right behind with a 23:32.6 time and placed 25th. Jessica Sucheck finished 33rd with a time of 23:55.9.

Behind the top three, Amanda Elkins placed 38th with a time of 24:20.8. Kristen Fett finished 45th with a time of 24:34.6 and Miranda Shaffer finished 46th with a time of 24:34.9

Otterbein claimed the team title on the women's side.

Both teams will take next week off as they prepare for the NCAA Great Lakes Regional in Terre Haute, Indiana, on Nov. 14.
