The Heidelberg University men's and women's cross country teams look to make strides in 2016. Led by first-year head coach Brian Grime, a combination of senior leadership and talented returners will anchor the teams this season.
The women's cross country team is led by six seniors, including Dani Blum. She looks to return to the NCAA Division III Championships, a feat she accomplished in 2014. Junior Rachel House, the 2014 OAC Freshman of the Year, seeks a return to the Championships.
A former All-OAC selection Hayley Cochran, is joined by seniors Harley Berlesky, Courtney Hughes-Ksenish, Megan Lefeld, and Elizabeth Volz, who along with a talented group of underclassmen will battle for top-five positioning.
On the men's side, a wealth of returners are back from the 2015 season. After a successful sophomore campaign, Isaac Kuntz returns to compete as one of the Berg's top runners. Seniors David Brauer, DeVaun Churchya, and Jesse Rudolph lead the team containing a wealth of skilled underclassmen.
Both teams will kick off their season at the Bluffton Invitational on September 2nd. They will host the Heidelberg Cross Country Carnival on Friday Sept. 9th at Hedges-Boyer Park.
