Kuntz, House lead XC to first place finish

TIFFIN -- The Heidelberg University men's and women's cross country teams took first place in the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival. The men's team finished in seven of the top eight places.

Isaac Kuntz finished first overall in the 5K with a time of 16:23.4. Joel Studer finished second with his run of 16:35.9.

Behind them Dom Frey (16:52.2), Jacob Ferrebee (16:57.9), Tim Faiken (17:03.4), Jesse Rudolph (17:04.3), and Eric Peterson (17:10.0) finished consecutively taking the 4th through 8th spots.

Rachel House placed 34th overall -- and first among the women -- with a time of 19:05.2. Hayley Cochran finished next for the Berg with a time of 19:11.7, good for 36th overall.

Amanda Elkins (20:56.5), Miranda Shaffer (21:07.0), and Nicole Tennison (21:14.7) all finished in a pack for HU. They finished 46th, 47th, and 48th.

Behind them, Harley Berlesky (21:37.4) and Courtney Hughes-Ksenich (21:42.4) took 50th and 51st.

The teams are back in action October 1st when they travel to Louisville, Ky. for the NCAA DIII Pre-National Meet.
