Neura wins, House 4th at Oshkosh

WINNECONNE, Wisc. -- Austin Neura won and Rachel House was fourth as the Heidelberg University cross country teams competed at the UW Oshkosh Kollege Town Sports Invitational on Saturday. The men's team was seventh and the women's team was 12th.

Of the 141 collegiate men racing in the 8K, Neura's time of 25:23.2 was best by 14.5 seconds. Behind him, Isaac Kuntz took 11th with a time of 26:15.7.

The third scorer for Heidelberg was Jacob Ferrebee's 26:51.1., good for 33rd. Dominic Frey was 48th with a 27:07.2.

The final scorer for the men's team was Kyle Manuel, whose 27:56.7 was 89th.

House was fourth in the women's 6K with a time of 22:43.2. Amanda Elkins was 38th with a 24:30.7.

Clustered in with Elkins was Miranda Shaffer. Shaffer was 42nd with a 24:33.8.

Alexandra Chakov clocked a 26:07.5 (107th) and Jessica Sucheck had a 26:20.1 (119th).

"I thought we were very competitive this week," said head coach Brian Grime. "The course was a little muddy and slow, but this was a nice meet for us. We are excited for the postseason."

In two weeks, Heidelberg will host the OAC Championships at Clinton Heights Golf Course.
