GAME ONE: Baldwin Wallace 7 Heidelberg 5
It was a quiet game offensively on both sides for much of the game, as the Yellow Jackets struck first with one in the top of the second.
The bats went silent from there until the bottom of the sixth for the Berg, when they erupted for five runs, all with two outs, to take the 5-1 lead into the 7th.
Baldwin Wallace found a way to answer, however, as they scored six of their own in the seventh with two out to regain the lead 7-5.
Heidelberg was unable to battle back in the bottom of the inning, as they fell 7-5.
Paige Atterholt (11-4) took the loss, throwing a complete game while allowing 7 runs, just six earned, on 12 hits.
GAME TWO: Heidelberg 11 Baldwin Wallace 2
After both teams scored an unearned run in the first, Heidelberg plated two more unearned runs in the bottom of the second to take a 3-1 lead.
The Yellow Jackets were able to scrape across one in the top of the third, but the Berg was able to distance themselves in the bottom of the inning. The Student Princes batted around, scoring eight runs in the frame to take an 11-2 lead.
Heidelberg was able to cruise from that point, taking game two by run-rule.
Erin Chapman (8-3) picked up the win in the circle, throwing five innings and allowing just one earned run while striking out five.
Heidelberg returns to action on Wednesday, April 20th, when they travel to John Carroll for another conference doubleheader. Game one in University Heights is scheduled to start at 3:00 p.m.
