BEREA, Ohio – Making their final road trip of the regular season, the Heidelberg University women's basketball team fell flat in a 92-60 loss at Baldwin Wallace University on Wednesday.
Heidelberg (11-13, 4-13 OAC) took an early 10-2 lead. Schriber and Megan Miller each had a pair of baskets at the onset.
Baldwin Wallace (19-5, 14-3 OAC) grabbed their first lead when Shari Mangas hit a 3-pointer with 7:28 remaining. The Yellow Jackets closed the half on a 22-6 run and led 42-26 at the break.
The Student Princes were able to close the gap to eight after Paige Ricketts sank a 3-pointer with 16:28 left to play. BW quickly regained momentum and cruised to victory.
The loss sets up a pressure-packed game on Saturday. In the regular season finale, Heidelberg will host Otterbein University at 3 p.m. With a win, the Student Princes will clinch either the seventh or eighth seed in the OAC tournament. With a loss, the season will come to an end. Otterbein has already been eliminated from playoff contention.
