CHICAGO, Illinois -- The Heidelberg University women's basketball fell on the road at No. 7 University of Chicago by a final tally of 89-70 on Friday evening.
Heidelberg (1-1) was once again led by Alyssa Riley in the scoring column, as the senior guard poured in 17 points following up on her career-high 22 from last week at Olivet.
Crawford also hit a double-double as she hauled down a game-high 14 rebounds across the four quarters. Crawford's dominant game in the post was complemented by her three blocks.
Riley, the reigning OAC Player of the Week, continued her dominance at the free throw stripe, connecting on all four of her attempts. She is shooting 16-17 from the line on the season.
Chicago's (3-0) starting lineup carried the bulk of the production for The Maroons. The five starters combined for 64 of the team's 89 points.
Heidelberg did hold a dominant edge on rebounds, collecting 43 compared to Chicago's 32. In addition to the significant advantage in the post the Berg held a superior upper hand from beyond the three-point arc, connecting on 50% of their attempts, while Chicago only connect on 20% of their shots from deep.
The Berg is back in action tomorrow afternoon at the Midway Classic vs. MIT. Tip-off is slated for 1:00 p.m. EST.
