TIFFIN -- On Senior Day for Lajanae Morman, Alyssa Riley and Aianna Wilson, the Heidelberg University women's basketball team fell 82-61.  With the loss, Heidelberg fell out of contention for next week's eight-team Ohio Athletic Conference tournament.

The season ends at 9-16, 5-13 for the Student Princes.  At 17-8, 12-6, Marietta qualified for the tournament and will host an opening round game.

With Riley limited by an injury, Marietta was able to take control early.  The Pioneers used a 10-0 run midway through the first quarter to help open up a 22-10 lead after one.

Marietta led by as many as 20 in the first half as The Berg struggled to hit shots.  The Student Princes did enjoy modest success late in the second quarter, but trailed 42-26 at the break.

In the third, the Pioneers spread the gap to as many as 26, all but securing the win.

Even as the minutes ticked down, the Student Princes stayed engaged, ending the contest on a 10-2 run.

Over the course of the game, Brittanie Ulmer and Maddy Crawford each chipped in with 12 points for the Berg. Brooke Beamer added 10, while seniors Morman and Wilson each added seven.

Crawford completed her 16th double-double of the season with 11 rebounds.

For the Pioneers, Shay Lett led the way with 19, while Corrie Burkhardt tallied 17 and Alexis Enochs chipped in 15.

Heidelberg concluded their season with nine wins, more than doubling their total from 2017-18.
