WGOLF: Berg tees off on spring slate

BEVERLY, Ohio -- The Heidelberg Universty women's golf team teed off their spring schedule by placing sixth in the two-day Pioneer Classic at the Lakeside Golf Club, hosted by Marietta College.  As a team, HU carded a 378-377--755, one stroke out of fifth place.  

Morgan Fultz was 12th overall, shooting an 85-93--178 over the weekend -- leading the Heidelberg effort.  Alexis Julien carded a 94-89--183, finishing 20th overall.  

Charlotte Sypula was third for HU.  She shot a 93-94--187 to finish 23rd.  Megan Brugnone was fourth, coming in 39th with a 106-101--207.  Anastasia Lindemann saw a 14-stroke improvement in round two, carding a 116-102--218.

Mount St. Joseph took home the team title with a 338-339-677.  Ohio Valley's Joslyn Goins was the medalist, shooting a 79-76--155.

Heidelberg returns to action next weekend at the Miami Whitewater Classic.
