TIFFIN -- In its second year as a program, the Heidelberg University women's lacrosse team saw dramatic improvement. The team posted a 6-9 record, including a 2-6 mark in the Ohio Athletic Conference.
A quartet of Student Princes scored 20+ goals this season, led by freshman Angela Lulejian with 33 goals and four assists. Junior captains Dana Dudley (23 goals, seven assists) and Jen Kovarik (21 goals, six assists) played a key role in the Heidelberg attack. Sophomore midfielder Anna Winnicki registered 23 goals and caused a team-leading 37 turnovers as well.
In between the pipes, freshman Jessica Ballow played a crucial part in HU's success this season. Ballow started all 15 games in goal, making 112 saves and tallying a save percentage of 42.4%.
The season was highlighted by the first win in program history -- a 7-5 win over Concordia (MI) in the season opener.
