WASHINGTON, Penn. -- In their second tournament of the season, the Heidelberg University wrestling team was eighth at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational. Tyler Hammack continued his strong start by placing third.

"We had another great opportunity to find out where we are and where we need to go," said Head Coach Tony Patrizi. "I was happy with how aggressive we were but we need to get back to doing the little things correct all the time."

125: Mason Brainard wrestled his way to fifth at 125. Brainard was 4-1 on Saturday, including a 23-8 technical fall.

133: No participants

141: Slade Todd and Tre Bogetich each finished with a 3-2 record. Bogetich earned two pins and Todd tallied one on the afternoon.

149: No participants

157: Austin Rayburn and Noah Messerall were both 1-2. Rayburn's win came via a 0:50 pin.

165: Chris White was 2-2, including a 13-2 major decision.

175: Jeremiah Slagle was 2-2, highlighted by a first-period pin. Logan Broskie made his season debut and went 1-2. His first collegiate win was a pin in 1:29.

185: Spencer Geil went 1-2 on Veterans Day, with an 18-0 technical fall.

197: Hammack was 3-1 on the day, picking up a pair of pins -- including one in the third-place match. Chase Morrison was 2-2 with a major decision.

285: Christian Climer was 4-1 in the tournament. His run was highlighted by a pin in 4:21. Blake Jerome was 1-2.

The team will return to competition at next Saturday's Mount Union Duals.
