TIFFIN -- An overtime goal by Mount Union sunk the Heidelberg University women's soccer team 2-1 Saturday afternoon. The loss drops the Berg to 5-6-2, 0-3 OAC. The win moves the Purple Raiders to 6-6, 2-1 OAC.
HU jumped out to a 1-0 lead courtesy of Erica Campbell's team-leading 6th goal of the season. Campbell took possession of a loose ball at the top of the box and finished in the lower 90.
Mount Union evened the score in the 51st minute when Nicole Lanese scored her OAC-leading 12th goal of the year. Lanese gained control of the ball and dribbled to the top of the box. The strike sailed into the upper left corner of the net.
Carolyn Balzano scored the golden goal for the Purple Raiders on a shot into the lower left 90. The goal came off a feed from Lanese.
Heidelberg's best chance for the game winner came late in the second half. Campbell served a corner kick into the box. Maddy Hines beat the MTU defense and got a foot on the ball, but the shot sailed wide right of the goal.

After missing four games due to injury, HU goalkeeper Alexandra Farmer made nine saves in the match. MTU's Paige Freel made two saves.
Mount Union outshot the Tricolor 25-7.
The Berg will be in actions against No. 21 Ohio Northern on Tuesday. Kickoff in Ada is slated for 7 p.m.
