Women's soccer falls short at John Carroll

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- The Heidelberg University women's soccer team had its three-game win streak snapped, falling 2-0 at John Carroll University.

Both Blue Streak goals came in the first half off the foot of Bailey Fischer. Fischer put the Blue Streaks up in the 25th minute on an unassisted goal. Jaclyn Audino found Fischer in the box for the second John Carroll goal ten minutes before the half.

The home team kept the Berg defense busy, firing 22 shots in the game.

Junior Alexandra Farmer notched eight saves in the match. JCU keeper Rihanna Guarnera picked up the clean sheet, making just three saves.

The loss broke a streak of four straight clean sheets by Heidelberg, the longest since the 1996 squad had five in a row.

HU slips to 8-4-1 (1-1 OAC) on the year. The Blue Streaks improve to 5-3-2 (1-0-1 OAC).

The Student Princes travel to Mount Union to take on the defending OAC Tournament Champion. Saturday afternoon's kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
